Nature Moments by Nat Wheelwright

Welcome to Nature Moments

Anne T. and Robert M. Bass Professor of Natural Sciences Nathaniel T. Wheelwright wants to encourage more people to notice the world around them. To this end, he devised The Naturalist’s Notebook (Storey Publishing, 2017), which he co-authored with Bernd Heinrich, Emeritus Professor of Biology at the University of Vermont and award-winning nature writer (he’s also a talented artist). The book encourages people to observe and record their natural surroundings in a five-year journal. The authors are donating 100 percent of their royalties to support conservation and environmental education.

Nature Moments is a weekly series of short videos designed to introduce common plants and animals and interesting ecological concepts, no matter where you live. All are being filmed at different seasons in Nat's backyard and elsewhere in Brunswick, Maine, with photography and editing by Wilder Nicholson and Nat, and additional help from Rebecca Goldfine, Tom Porter, Paul Benham, and Genie Wheelwright.
