Kathleen has been teaching for over twenty-five years, since she served as an undergraduate language teaching fellow in college. Throughout graduate school and for seven years at Bowdoin, she taught courses in German language and literature. Retaining her focus on language and teaching, she founded the Bowdoin Writing Project in 1994 and serves as its director. She teaches the training seminar for peer Writing Assistants, "Teaching Writing:  Theory and Practice" (Education 251).  As the mother of two high school students, she also holds the position of parent in the Brunswick school system.
