Libby Marcus is a director and theater educator. Recent designs include work at Bowdoin College, The Theater at Monmouth, The George Street Playhouse, and Second Stage Uptown. She has directed or co-directed for Emerson Stage, Beau Jest Moving Theater and The New Ehrlich Theater in Boston. At Bowdoin Libby teaches Making Theater 101, Puppetry 235 and in spring 2006, Drama in Education 285. Since 1997 she has been a Creativity Consultant in Babson College’s M.B.A. program.
She is certified by the Massachusetts Department of Education in Communication & Performing Arts, All Ages. Libby developed the first in-school theater program at The Boston Latin School where she taught for nine years. Related work includes three years as a Theater Program site evaluator for the National Endowment for the Arts; teacher training workshops in Maine, Cambridge and Boston; New Play reader panelist for The Rod Parker Playwriting Fellowship Awards & The New Ehrlich Theater; and numerous drama residencies at schools in Maine and Massachusetts. Libby holds an MFA from Goddard College.
