Charlotte Griffin is a choreographer creating dance for the concert stage and cinematic screen. At Bowdoin, she teaches technique, repertory, and choreography. Her professional work has been commissioned by The New York Choreographic Institute with New York City Ballet, BJM Danse in Montreal, Barcelona Institut del Teatre, American Ballet Theatre Summer Intensive, The Juilliard Dance Ensemble, The Juilliard Summer Intensive, Eliot Feld's Kids Dance, Peridance Ensemble, Houston Metropolitan Dance Company, Princeton University, Rutgers University, and more. She has been a guest artist at the Bessie Schönberg Choreographers and Dancers Residency at The Yard, an Emerging Choreographer at the Bates Dance Festival, and recipient of the Scripps/ADF Primus-Tamiris Fellowship at the American Dance Festival. Charlotte was on the dance faculty at Marymount Manhattan College for four years and has given master classes in Prague, Barcelona, Mexico City, and Seoul.

As a young dancer, Charlotte received her BFA in Dance from The Juilliard School under the direction of Mr. Benjamin Harkarvy and enjoyed the opportunity to perform the masterworks of artists such as Paul Taylor, Agnes de Mille, and José Limón. Upon graduation, she was honored with The Martha Hill Award for excellence in her field of study. She later performed with choreographers including David Neumann, Toshiko Oiwa, Karen Graham, Yasmeen Godder, Robert Battle, Sue Bernhard, and Larry Keigwin.

While earning her MFA in Dance at The University of Texas at Austin, Charlotte directed the award-winning dance films, Raven Study (2007) and Barefoot Negotiations (2009), which continue to screen internationally. Her research of choreo-cinematic form, motion, and style continues to develop, and her passion for dance and technology informs her role as an Advisory Board Member of TenduTV. Charlotte is originally from Durham, North Carolina.
