The Capital Projects Management Department provides the College with the coordination and management of projects involving major renovations and/or new construction of campus buildings from concept to final occupancy. The Capital Projects Management team is also responsible for facilities operations of the Coastal Studies Center in Harpswell, Maine and the Bowdoin Scientific Station in N.B., Canada.
The Major Maintenance Department provides the College with the coordination and implementation of major maintenance and renovation projects. Through campus-wide collaboration, we develop a long term asset preservation database that advocates to improve each facility’s needs, functionality, and appearance. As well, Major Maintenance is responsible for the College’s record drawings and building files.
The College incorporates sustainability features into each of the construction projects. These standards include recycling waste and purchasing energy efficient lighting and products. Applying criteria from the U. S. Green Building Council and campus renovation standards, the College strives to make the buildings energy efficient and environmentally sound.
