Commencement 2009

How do I order my Cap and Gown?  How much does it cost?
Cap and Gown orders will be taken onsite during the Grad Fair for Seniors, after Spring Break.  There is not cost for the cap and gown, and it is yours to keep after the ceremony.

Where can I buy Commencement invitations?
The Bowdoin Bookstore, located in the David Saul Smith Union, sells Commencement announcements through Balfour, an outside vendor. Please call the Bookstore at 1-800-524-2225 for more information.  Or you may contact Balfour at 1-877-225-3687 or visit the Balfour web site for product details at http://ww2.balfour.com/gradprod/default.aspx

How should I dress?
For all activities on Friday and Saturday, please dress comfortably. Remember that Commencement is planned for the outdoors, so please wear shoes suitable for walking on grass.

Is there a lost-and-found on campus?
Lost items will be turned in at the David Saul Smith Union information table or to Security. Inquiries about lost articles can be made in person or by calling (207) 725-3375 between 8:30 am and 5:00 pm; or you may reach Security 24 hours a day at (207) 725-3314.

Is medical assistance available?
In the event of a medical emergency, please contact a Bowdoin Security officer immediately. Call x3500 if you are inside a building or 207-725-3500 from your cell phone. You may also use an outdoor emergency phone (marked with a blue lamp). An ambulance is on standby on campus should medical services be necessary. Two hospitals also are within a short distance of campus: Parkview Hospital is at 329 Main Street (207-373-2000), and Mid Coast Hospital is at 123 Medical Center Drive (207-729-0181). Both have walk-in clinics.
