Student Advisory Committee

The ES Student Advisory Committee is a student group whose main purpose is to serve as an active student voice for the ES Program. ES students are encouaged to serve on the committee. We meet monthly for lunch, usually non-common hour Fridays (please see the schedule of upcoming meetings below).
In the past, the SAC has provided input into:

  • Design of the ES Commons space and offices in Adams
  • Hiring of faculty, including our newest ES professor, Dharni Vasudevan
  • Co-curricular events
  • Grants, such as the three year Mellon grant to enhance field components and service learning initiatives, and a grant from Mellon to bring in an international scholar over the next two years
  • Changes in the ES major including the addition of the new ES minor
  • Establishing an advisor/mentor program for prospective ES majors

This year we would like to explore the possibility of a lunch time speaker series with local guest speakers. Please periodically check this page for more information on SAC initiatives and how you can become involved.
