Advanced Placement

Students who receive a score of 4 or higher on the AP English Literature and Composition exam (not the AP English Language and Composition exam) will receive one AP credit toward graduation upon the successful completion of an English first-year seminar or English literature course at Bowdoin with a grade of B or A.

The Student Records Office administers this policy, and general credit is automatically granted when the above conditions are met. Advanced Placement credit in English literature does not count toward a major or minor in English.
