Cooperating Teachers Mentoring and Resources

The Education Department at Bowdoin believes that students learn to be teachers not just in the Bowdoin classroom, but also by engaging in multiple field placements in area public schools. The culminating field placement, the Bowdoin Teacher Scholars practicum, allows our students to spend 14 weeks in a classroom full-time, first observing, then working alongside, and finally assuming responsibility for three of a cooperating teacher's classes.
