Monday, September 10: Project proposal to honors advisor and submit a proposed list of advisory committee members for consideration

Monday, November 19: Thesis sections to advisor

Monday, December 10: Thesis sections to all department faculty and instructors

Tuesday, December 11: Oral presentations, Room 110, 11:00 - 12:00pm

Monday, April 1: Complete thesis draft to advisor

Monday, April 22: Revised thesis to all faculty

Friday, May 10: Oral presentations, Room 110, Time TBA

Friday, May 17: submitted to Librarian of the College, Sherrie Bergman no later than 5pm

In addition, all EOS honors candidates must present externally at a recognized meeting, for example:

NorthEastern Geological Society of America (abstract due December)

Geological Society of Maine (abstract deadline around Spring Break)

National Conference on Undergraduate Research (abstract due December)

New England Estuarine Research Society (abstract due early March)

Geological Association of Canada/Minerological Association of Canada

Opportunity to practice presentations: HCURA National Collegiate Research Conference (January 22-25, 2014)

Juniors considering honors projects for their senior years: Please consult with potential advisors in spring prior to summer fellowship deadlines (typically March 1) and fall semester course registration (mid-April).
