Although the days are getting longer and the sun a bit stronger, there is a certain ennui that defines February and March in the Northeast. Thus, it's a perfect time to add events to the dining program that offer a diversion and some zest for students and guests. As the semester progresses, we'll keep you up to date with reports on current and upcoming events.
Last night, Henry D'Alessandris, the highly regarded former owner/chef of Henry & Marty's restaurant, joined us at Moulton Union dining hall for our Guest Chef series. Henry is known for producing sumptuous vegetarian cuisine incorporating local ingredients. He shared his recipe for Vegan Vegetable Lasagna Rolls with "Bacon" Bits and Sauteed Green Beans with Sesame Gomasio with our chefs and oversaw the preparation.
Henry's very engaging personality was evident as he chatted with students and answered their questions about food, the vegetarian lifestyle, cooking, and life in general! Vegetarians and meat-lovers alike had rave reviews for his recipes.
