Bowdoin College Dining Service is dedicated to recognizing and satisfying our guests' needs through a quality approach to personalized service. Our dining program is cost effective, enhances the Bowdoin educational experience, and strives to minimize environmental impacts. We encourage the development of our staff's professional expertise, and aim to build a continuing rapport with our guests.
Bowdoin College Dining Service is consistently rated as one of the premier college food services in the country. This year the Princeton Review rated us the second best college food service in the country! It is no wonder when you consider that Dining Service celebrates Maine's rich fishing heritage by hosting a real Down East Lobster Bake for all students at the start of each academic year. The menu includes lobster and clams served with drawn butter, creamy fish chowder, farm fresh corn-on-the-cob, and even wild Maine blueberry cake! Throughout the year the dining service staff entertains students' desires for the extraordinary by offering unique theme meals and opportunities to sample ethnic cuisine from around the globe. Monotony breakers such as Sushi Bars or "Build Your Own Banana Splits," a Peel and Eat Maine Shrimp Special," and mini specials like a stir fry bars, nacho bars, baked potato bars and pasta bars add a little extra spice to the meal. Meal service does not end at the dining halls. As part of the board plan, hundreds of meals, barbecues, box lunches, reception and party snacks and formal dinners are catered by dining service each year to support student social house, athletic, outing club and other student organization activities.
Dining at Bowdoin College is fun, delicious and truly a hub of social activity for students.
