The third of three talks presented by the three finalists for the Bowdoin College Librarian position will be held Tuesday, April 2 at 4 pm in Daggett Lounge, Thorne Hall.
Marjorie Hassen, Director of Teaching, Research, and Learning Services, University of Pennsylvania Libraries will present: Disruption and Deep Breathing. Her talk will be followed by Q&A and a reception.
Marjorie Hassen came to Penn from Princeton in 1988 initially to head the Otto E. Albrecht Music Library. Her work at Penn since 2000 has focused more broadly on support for teaching and learning. She has served as Assistant Director for Research & Instructional Services and as Director of Public Services and in these positions, as well as in her current role, she has developed collections, faciltities, and services and led a broad array of programs and initiatives to support the academic work of students and faculty. She received her BA in music from Brooklyn College (CUNY) and her AM in library science from the University of Chicago; she completed additional graduate study in music at Rutgers University.
