College Storage (a.k.a Microwave) Moving Wednesday Evening (Information Technology)
On the night of Wednesday June 4th, the 120 terabytes of files stored on “microwave” will move from Hubbard Hall to the Oxford Networks Data Center, the college’s new data center at Brunswick Landing.
Starting this Wednesday at 7pm through Thursday at 8am, the “microwave” will be unavailable. Files stored on home and department directories, as well as on “scratch” will be inaccessible.
Several college applications that connect to this storage will be shut down that evening and brought back online after the move is complete. All systems will be back online by 8am Thursday morning.
Major Systems Unavailable Night of June 4th
- Microwave file services (J & H drives, home and department directories, scratch, MobileEcho)
- Financial Edge
- Raiser’s Edge
- Net Community
- Bowdoin website (unavailable for up to 4 hours)
- High Performance Computing cluster (unavailable from 7pm on 6/4/14 through 3pm on 6/5/14)
Email, telephones, voicemail, Blackboard, door access systems and wireless will remain operational.
