Keith Boykin will speak about his latest book For Colored Boys Who Have Considered Suicide When the Rainbow is Still Not Enough: Coming of Age, Coming Out, and Coming Home. The book responds to the crisis of youth development and suicide in the black community, specifically among young gay men of color. It is a powerful book and promises to be a powerful talk.

Keith Boykin is the editor of The Daily Voice online News site, a CNBC contributor, a BET TV host, former special assistant to President Clinton, and New York Times best-selling author of three books.

The talk is part of the Resource Center for Sexual and Gender Diversity’s annual event, Proud of My Whole Self: Intersections of Identity in the LGBTIQA Community. It is a collaboration between Africana Studies, African American Society, Bowdoin Queer Straight Alliance, Gay and Lesbian Studies, Gender and Women’s Studies, Latin American Studies, Latin American Student Association, Office of Multicultural Student Programing, Office of Residential Life, and Resource Center for Sexual and Gender Diversity.
