One of the main goals of the Coastal Studies Center is to support and encourage independent student research and projects. Activities related to coastal and marine topics from all disciplines are welcome, and multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary approaches are encouraged. Academic year Independent Study and Honors Projects and summer fellowship opportunities are available.

Independent Study Projects and Honors Projects
Students are encouraged to sign up for Independent studies or honors projects within their departments to engage in research, or work pertaining to marine or coastal topics that may not be immediately or completely located at the Coastal Studies Center.
Such projects will usually take place during the academic year. Current and past projects are described on the Independent Studies and Honors Projects page.
Students are also encouraged to apply for summer fellowships to conduct independent research on coastal or marine topics under the supervision of a faculty advisor. For more information on these fellowships, or to learn about past CSC fellows and projects follow the links provided:
