Rusack Awards: These awards are made possible through the generous gift of Geoffrey C. Rusack '78 and Alison Wrigley Rusack. The competitive fund is intended to promote and facilitate disciplinary and interdisciplinary projects that attract faculty from across the College to conduct research and creative work on questions, issues and concerns that relate to coastal peoples, cultures, environments and organisms. The fund supports projects that take place at the Coastal Studies Center and surrounding areas as well as coastal locales outside of Maine that draw comparisons to this region. Faculty are encouraged to submit proposals even if their projects (scholarly or artistic) are in the early stages of development. Collaborative proposals between faculty and staff are welcome. The fund is aimed at initiating work in the summer but projects taking place academic year will also be considered. Faculty from arts, humanities and social sciences are especially encouraged to apply. There will be a second round for proposals Spring 2008. The application deadline is April 14. See the Faculty Resource Committee (FRC) webpage for application format and submission procedures.
Phocas Family Awards: A gift from the Phocas Family Foundation and George A. Phocas '90 provided funding for two faculty research projects at the Coastal Studies Center Marine Lab in 2007. Follow the link below for more information.
