Coastal Studies Scholar

Each year, the Coastal Studies Center invites departments to nominate a scholar to conduct independent work and teach one course while living in Bowdoin housing. Since 2000, Coastal Studies has sponsored scholars representing a wide array of disciplines including the visial arts, biology, sociology and environmental history.

Diane Lee,  Associate Professor at the University of California, Long Beach, and is the Coastal Studies Scholar Fall 2009. Professor Lee is teaching an advanced seminar in behavioral neuroscience. Dr. Lee will be giving a public lecture, 'The Amazing Chickadee Brain: Stem Cells and Adult Neurogenesis' on Friday, November 20, 2009 in Main Lounge, Moulton Union at 12:30.
