Dighton is responsible for overseeing the internship and practical experience programs and services of Career Planning. In addition, he supervises the advising staff of Career Planning and advises students in broadcasting and film, advertising, public relations, and the arts.
Dighton enjoyed a successful career in television production and broadcasting that took him from non-profit WGBH-TV in Boston to the CBS Television Network in Los Angeles. He also lived in London and worked for ECM Productions Ltd., a company that put television programs on the air internationally with advertiser support.
During his career, he created children's and public affairs programs and adapted two Pulitzer Prize winning books into television dramas. Before coming to Bowdoin, Dighton was Project Director for non-profit Craft in America, a multi-media project that included a three-part PBS television series, a nationally touring art exhibition and a book.
Dighton grew up in Cambridge, MA and holds a B.S. from Northeastern University in Boston. He moved to Brunswick from Los Angeles and his interests include films, cooking, politics, and biking.
