Internship Opportunities

Employers seek individuals with a career direction or experience in a field. Internships are a great way to explore a field of interest, gain research or work experience, and make connections for future opportunities.   • Liberal Arts Career Network (LACN):
    Search this database, available through eBEAR, for thousands of internships developed by liberal arts colleges across the country.
  • Preston Public Interest Career Fund (PPICF):
    Thanks to a generous gift from the Preston family, Bowdoin is able to fund students who are interested in internships with social service agencies, legal service organizations, humanitarian organizations, public education, and similar organizations that serve the needs of underserved and disadvantaged populations.   • Winter Break Mini Grant:
    The generous gift from an anonymous donor has provided the College with funds to support students committed to enhancing social justice by serving the needs of the underserved and disadvantaged through policy making, direct service or community organizing. Applications are due in late fall.  Download brochure for full details.
  • Thomas A. McKinley '06 Grant:
    The Grants, made possible by the generous gift of Thomas A. McKinley '06, supports Bowdoin students who are pursuing either significant entrepreneurial experiences or community service projects of their own design, anywhere in the world, in the summer after their sophomore year.   • Robert S. Goodfriend Grant:
    The Robert S. Goodfriend Summer Internship Fund encourages students to pursue summer internships that will develop their business skills and increase their exposure to the business world.  Applications are due in early February.  Download brochure for full details. 
  • Community Matters Fellowships:
    The Bowdoin College Community Resource Center provides information about the opportunities with the Community Matters in Maine.
  • Opportunities for Enviromental Studies:
    Learn about the Psi Upsilon Environmental Internships and the Logan Environmental Internship.

    Subscription online resource from Career Education Institutes containing guides to internships in international affairs, women's rights, law and policy in DC, congress, history, environment, journalism, human rights, seasonal state parks, resorts, and sports. (Username: intern08 Password: work)
  • Internships.com:
    Subscription online resource with internship listings from across the nation in many fields. To access, click on "Go To Premium Pages", select Bowdoin College and our Promo Code is polarbears. You will then create your own password for future use.
