We are pleased to assist you meet the hiring needs of your organization. Below is some general information about Bowdoin's on-campus recruiting program for both post-graduate opportunities and internships. Specific questions may be directed to Kate Bathras, Employer Relations Coordinator, at 207-721-5601 or kbathras@bowdoin.edu.

Basic Information:

  • eRecruiting: Bowdoin utilizes the online recruiting tool, eRecruiting, to manage all of our recruiting programs. If you are unfamiliar with this system, we are happy to assist you in setting up the schedule that is best for you.

  • Non-Discrimination Policy: All organizations must sign a statement stating that they comply with Bowdoin's non-discrimination policy. Any questions regarding this policy should be directed to Tim Diehl, Director of Career Planning.

  • Catering: Catering services are available for organizations who would like to offer refreshments during their recruiting visit. The Employer Relations Coordinator will work with you to make arrangements.

  • Projectors/Screens: We have an LCD projector and screen available for use, free of charge. Please let the Employer Relations Coordinator know of your media needs when scheduling your visit.

  • Visiting Campus: Directions and area accommodations are available online. If you would like to make a weekend or short vacation of your visit, let us know and we can offer some other recommendations of places to stay and things to see in this beautiful coastal area.

  • Colby/Bates/Bowdoin Recruiting: If time does not allow you to visit all three schools, we can arrange a schedule for you that will invite students from Bates and/or Colby to participate in information sessions and campus interviews.

  • Publicity: All recruiting visits are advertised through multiple mediums across campus at least a week in advance. As soon as you arrange your visit, it will also show up on our eRecruiting calendar for students to access.

On-Campus Recruiting Options:

  • On-Campus Interviews: We can arrange a half-day, full-day, or multiple schedules of student interviews, depending on the number of candidates with whom you'd like to meet. We have two interview rooms available for use in the Career Planning Center, and can arrange additional interview space if needed.

  • Information Sessions: These informational meetings are generally held the evening before on-campus visits, although some organizations prefer to hold an information session a few weeks prior to conducting on-campus interviews as a means of generating interest. Due to the athletic and extracurricular demands of our students, we recommend that information sessions be held between 7-8:30pm in order to have access to the largest number of candidates. Information sessions may be held in the Career Planning Center (15-20 person capacity), Lancaster Lounge (50 person capacity), or Main Lounge (100+ person capacity) of Moulton Union. The Employer Relations Coordinator can advise you on the optimal location and timing if you have specific requests.

  • Resume Referral: Organizations who are unable to schedule a campus visit but would like to receive application information from candidates may choose a resume referral, or resume drop. For a resume referral, we will advertise your organization and position, along with a deadline date by which students must submit their materials via eRecruiting. Many organizations then choose to follow up with a campus visit based on the number of qualified candidates they receive.

  • Smith Union Table: If you would like direct access to students in a public space, you may choose to staff a Smith Union table, either alone or in conjunction with an information session and interviews. Arrangements for a Smith Union table may be made through the Employer Relations Coordinator.
