Resources for Alumni

Networking with Other Alumni

Bowdoin Career Advisory Network (BCAN)

The Bowdoin Career Advisory Network (BCAN) is a national network of 1600 alumni who have volunteered to be contacted to discuss careers, job searching, graduate schools, relocation and specific firms or organizations. This network can be accessed electronically through Polarnet. First-time visitors to PolarNet will be required to register.

Once registered, search for BCAN members by clicking BCAN Directory on the menu bar. PolarNet will also allow you to search the entire alumni database, which includes BCAN and non-BCAN members by clicking on Alumni Directory on the menu bar. Please be advised that, while many alumni are pleased to connect with fellow "Polar Bear" and may be very helpful, not all of them have volunteered to do so. It is a good idea to begin with the BCAN directory and then extend your networking to include other alumni in the directory.

If you would like to volunteer as a Bowdoin Career Advisor, please register and update your PolarNet profile, then email the Career Planning Center at cpc@bowdoin.edu. For more information, please read our Bowdoin Career Advisor Network Guidelines for Advisors.
