Winter Break Letters

Due to final exams and winter break, many mentor-mentee matches will not meet for seven weeks! Research shows that stronger mentoring relationships have stronger effects on participants. Therefore, we are giving mentors the opportunity to easily connect with their mentees over winter break.

This project is available to mentors in the following programs:
Bowdoin Central Mentoring
Falcon Friends
Lunch Buddies (Big Brothers Big Sisters)
Mt. Ararat Middle School Mentoring
Mt. Ararat High School Mentoring

Send a letter to your mentee no later than Monday, January 7 by:

  • e-mailing rguerett@bowdoin.edu with "Letter for (Mentee's Name)" in the subject line. We will print out the letter for you.
  • sending a note to:
    Mentoring Coordinator
    Community Service Resource Center
    4690 College Station
    Brunswick, ME 04011
  • if you're on campus, stopping by the Community Service Resource Center and using our letterhead or choosing a card.

We will place your note in an envelope and deliver it to your mentee's school. When writing, remember that our mentees may have diverse holiday and winter break experiences. In addition, please do not directly contact your mentee outside of this program (unless such contact has been arranged by your school's site manager).

Letters will be delivered during the week of January 7. We are unable to have mentees write letters back at this time.
