The success of any identification program depends on the correct and consistent use of its components. These graphic design standards offer guidelines for the implementation of the Bowdoin College Sustainability Identifier. The Sustainability Identifier has been developed to serve as a “Seal of Approval.” The College can thus describe and identify newsworthy “green” efforts to the community and beyond.
Several one and two color versions have been developed. The new identifier has been developed with a close eye towards its relationship to and contrast with the Bowdoin College wordmark. The hand drawn “B,” for instance, is the same “B” as in the wordmark. The Bowdoin College wordmark, in print communications, should remain the dominant identifier. The new Bowdoin College Sustainability Identifier accepts a supporting role gracefully.
