Coastal Studies Center

Summer 2012

Seventeen Bowdoin students were awarded fellowships for coastal or marine faculty mentored summer research this summer. Four of these Bowdoin students received summer fellowships to join a multi-year research collaborative with scientists and economists from Bowdoin, Bates and the University of Southern Maine who are studying past and present alewife populations in the Kennebec and Androscoggin watersheds.

Summer 2012 Fellows

Jonathan Allen, Professor of Biology at William & Mary College returned for another summer of research at the Coastal Studies marine lab, bringing three research fellows from William & Mary College with him.

All the students gave Pecha Kucha presentations (20 slides/ 20 seconds per slide) on their research, or art projects over two days in July.
