There are other volunteer opportunities for Bowdoin students at the center as well, however we are mindful of the number of adults that we have entering our children’s life here. For a student to have a volunteer position here, there is an interview and orientation process that needs to occur and we do ask for a long term commitment.
Bowdoin students who need to do a one time observation or project and would like access to our program, can discuss this with the associate director on a project by project basis. Access can not always be granted however we do our best of accommodate student’s needs.
The Children’s Center also collaborates with SMCC, CMCC and UMF to offer practicum student opportunities. These students are in early childhood programs and work closely with a classroom educator and the associate director to learn about our center and complete their course work.
