Grant Advisor Plus

The Grant Advisor Plus database allows you to enter your own search criteria (such as funding agency, keywords, academic division, and more). Results are displayed in a table format. The Article Search is available for keyword searching through hundreds of their program abstracts and Federal Register articles. The Grant Advisor Plus home page offers many useful links including one to electronic newsletter with funding deadlines organized by research area.

FC Search

The Foundation Center's Database on CD-ROM. This tool is not available on line, but is available in the CFR Office. Let Marianne Jordan know if you would like to stop by and use this searchable database. The FC Search features a comprehensive listing of all-known active U.S. foundations, corporate giving programs and grantmaking public charities, and their grants. It includes a Grantmaker File of over 71,210 records and a Grants File with more than 339,990 grants of $10,000 or more awarded by the nation's top funders. Unique to FC Search is the ability to quickly click back and forth between descriptions of grants awarded and the profiles of the grantmakers that awarded the grants. You can also link from the grantmaker profiles to the associated grants of the largest funders. You may also link directly to the Web sites of over 2,700 of the nation's top foundations, as well as more than 1,700 corporate Web sites.

Grantmaker records on FC Search include contact information, funding interests, geographic focus, application and financial information, and much more. FC Search also allows users to link the names of close to 315,000 trustees, officers, and donors to their foundation affiliations. Grantmaker and grants data may be accessed by choosing from among 21 search criteria, including text searching. Boolean search terms (AND, OR, NOT) may be used within and between search fields to broaden or narrow your searches.
