Bowdoin College has produced a general Catalogue since 1807, when a single broadsheet listed the president, two professors and two tutors; the graduates in 1806 (6 students) and 1807 (3 students); and the total current student body (42).
As the College has grown and evolved—today, 1,775 Bowdoin students can choose from nearly 700 courses taught by more than 195 faculty in 31 academic departments—so too has the Catalogue. After more than two centuries, the Catalogue remains the authoritative source of information about Bowdoin College.
As with printed versions, the online Catalogue presents a comprehensive snapshot in time of the College. The information here is updated once per year and is accurate as of August 1, 2012. Substantive changes made after that date may be found on the Addenda page.
