The Lettershop is a one-stop shop mailing service center for all your volume or 'bulk' mailing needs. We prepare and send out large mailings and can customize our services to fit your project requirements. From first-class to non-profit mailings, off-campus to campus-wide distribution, the Lettershop is here to assist you from concept to completion.
The Lettershop staff can oversee all aspects of the mailing process including collating and inserting components, addressing, tabbing, metering and final presentation to the U.S. Postal Service (USPS). We can be your single point of contact if your campus mailing is being sent by the Copy & Print Center.
The equipment in the Lettershop is capable of folding and inserting your mail directly into pre-addressed envelopes at a rate of hundreds per hour. USPS approved software programs improve the quality of your addresses and increase the deliverability of every piece of mail.
Our staff can provide guidance on addressing standards, arrange mailing list cleansing, and assist with data management issues. We also work with the USPS on Business Reply and Courtesy Reply mail design.

Our high-speed address printer is capable of applying addresses onto envelopes and cards of various types and sizes.
Message or ‘teaser’ lines can also be applied along with your return address.
With advanced postal software, the Lettershop staff can cleanse your address database to ensure compliance with U.S. Postal regulations. Addresses that are flagged as non-deliverable will be returned to the customer.
The inserter is capable of inserting sheets, pre-folded inserts, return envelopes and cards, brochures, etc., into a range of envelopes. If needed, our trained staff can insert materials by hand.
If needed, the Lettershop can print addresses onto standard mailing labels and apply to mailed pieces.
The most common files and materials are shown below. If you are new to using the Lettershop's services, please call us at extension 3609 and we can discuss the specifics of your job.
- Your address database - preferably in an Excel format.
- The valid project number you wish to charge for this mailing.
- A clearly defined completion date with enough time built in for the Lettershop to complete the job.
- The electronic or printed materials being mailed. Remember, the Lettershop staff will coordinate directly with the Copy & Print Center if your materials are being produced on-campus.
- Envelopes. Please provide ten-percent more envelopes than will be needed for the mailing. Leftover materials willbe returned to you following the mailing, unless otherwise indicated.

The complex nature of most Lettershop jobs does not lend itself to same-day walk-in service.
