Matt O’Donnell is an avid skier, runner, cyclist, and overall fitness fan. He has a twenty-five year coaching background as a professional ski instructor, and he enjoys sharing his passion for an active, healthy lifestyle. He got hooked on Spinning through Bowdoin’s wellness program as an off-season cycling workout, and was so enamored with its benefits as a year-round workout—and its fun, supportive, group atmosphere—that he became a certified Spinning instructor himself. His other certifications include: Professional Ski Instructors of America Level III, alpine and telemark; Wilderness First Responder; and AIARE Level I Avalanche. During the day he is editor of Bowdoin Magazine, and he directs a telemark ski program for the Bowdoin Outing Club. Matt holds an MFA in poetry and is founder of a literary nonprofit called From the Fishouse. He lives with his wife, daughter, and a couple of rescue mutts, in Topsham.
