Spring Dance Performance
- 4/18/2014 |
8:00 PM – 10:00 PM
Location: Memorial Hall, Pickard Theater
Event Type: Performance
This spring's program features choreography for students performing everything from a post-modern water ballet, to the "The Hunted" which was inspired by the Trevon Martin case, and explores themes of oppression, resilience, and the tensions between individual and group. Also on the program is Denis Maguire's re-presentation of Tom Johnson's iconic 1976 Running Out of Breath. Musical variety rules the evening, and ranges from The Weather Girls to the theme for The Good, the Bad and the Ugly-and from Marvin Gaye, to a string quartet arrangement of Gee Officer Krupke.
A closing night reception sponsored by the Association of Bowdoin Friends will be held in Drake Lobby on Saturday, April 19th after the show.
The Spring Dance Performance is produced with assistance from the June Vail Fund for Dance, and the Alice Cooper Morse Fund for the Performing Arts.
The performances are free and open to the public.
