Come and join us for the second year of Bowdoin's KLAVIERFEST!, a day-long celebration of pianists and their remarkable music. The renowned British pianist, Susan Tomes, noted for her brilliant performances as a member of the Florestan Trio and author of three books about the musician's life, will be our special guest artist this year with a recital of music by Haydn, Schumann and Billy Mayerl, the pianist at the Savoy Hotel in London in the 1920's and '30's. Ms. Tomes will  be giving a masterclass to local students and discussing her life as a international touring artist with Mary Hunter, A. LeRoy Greason Professor of Music at Bowdoin...Don't miss this fascinating day of music and conversation!
Other events associated with the Klavierfest will include a seminar given by Robert Philip, British musicologist and historian of recordings.
