Based on Mohsin Hamid’s 2007 bestseller, The Reluctant Fundamentalist (2012) is a timely political thriller from award-winning director Mira Nair H’11 P'14. Set in the wake of the 9/11 terrorist attacks, the film follows a young Pakistani man as he struggles to reconcile his American Dream with his heritage in a world where perception and suspicion can determine life or death. Following the screening, Nair will lead the audience in a discussion followed by a Q&A. Tickets required, free of charge. Tickets available in person at the David Saul Smith Union Information Desk starting October 16 for students; October 21 for faculty/staff; October 24 for community. (130 minutes, English, Rated R for language, some violence and brief sexuality.)
