Economics Dept Seminar Series: Jonathan Schlefer, Harvard Business School
- 10/11/2012 |
4:00 PM – 5:30 PM
Location: Hawthorne Longfellow Library, Nixon Lounge
Event Type: Seminar
The Economics Department welcomes Jonathan Schlefer for its first seminar this fall. Schlefer holds a Ph.D. in political science from MIT and is the author of Palace Politics: How the Ruling Party Brought Crisis to Mexico, as well as articles for The Atlantic and other publications. He is currently a research associate at Harvard Business School.
His talk at Bowdoin will center around his new book, The Assumptions Economists Make. Born of his frustration with various contradictions among economists, the book investigates how economists arrive at their opinions and renders the behavior of economists much more comprehensible, if not less irrational.
