Forbearance

Options for Financial Difficulties

A forbearance is a period in which you are not due for regularly scheduled payments. Interest, however, continues to accrue during the forbearance period and is due by the last day of the forbearance period. Forbearances are granted at Bowdoin's discretion. To receive a forbearance, we require borrowers to complete a forbearance request form or a hardship deferment application to serve as documentation of the request and circumstances. If you would like to apply for a forbearance, please complete a forbearance form and mail to our office: Bursar, Bowdoin College, 5420 College Station, Brunswick, ME 04011-8445.
