The following email was sent to all students studying away for Spring 2018 on November 15.

Dear Bowdoin Student,

The Bursar's Office has you listed as studying away for Spring 2018. Please carefully review this message to learn more about payment for your semester abroad. You may wish to share this email with your family or authorized payers. Authorized payers will not receive a copy of this email.

If you receive student aid or plan to borrow student loans:

The Bursar uses a Qualtrics survey to determine how your aid award and loans should be distributed, also known as the off-campus study aid disbursement form. We will send your aid money and loan money to your program on your behalf. Please complete the survey (link below) as soon as possible, and no later than February 1, 2018.

Follow this link to the Survey:

All student aid and loan money will be sent on or after February 15, 2018.

Please note that many programs have payment deadlines in advance of Bowdoin's disbursement date. You may need to ask your program for a payment extension to avoid late fees or other penalties. Please contact bursar@bowdoin.edu should you have any questions.

You are responsible for paying any balance due directly to your program. The Bowdoin Tuition Management Systems (TMS) Plan cannot be used by students studying away. Your study away program may offer an installment plan.

If you do not receive aid and do not intend to borrow loans:

You are not required to complete this survey. Bowdoin will bill you in December for the $1,000 off-campus study fee. Otherwise, you are responsible for paying your program directly.

NOTE: The Bowdoin Tuition Management Systems (TMS) Plan cannot be used by students studying away. Your study away program may offer an installment plan.

Please contact bursar@bowdoin.edu should you have any questions.

More information and frequently asked questions are listed on the Bursar website.
