Howard Hughes Summer Fellowship for 2009
The Howard Hughes Foundation will support up to thirteen student research fellows to work with science faculty during the summer of 2009. Successful applicants will receive a summer stipend of $4,000.00 to cover a ten week research project, as well as funding for research supplies.
In addition,summer research fellows will receive subsidized on-campus housing.
On campus housing is on a first come first serve basis.
Fellowship Application: Biological Sciences 2009
Applicants should submit parts A, B & C of the application form to Julie Santorella, in the Biology Department Office on Tuesday, February 24, 2009. This electronic (pdf) application consists of student information, a 2 page description of the research project, a copy of your academic transcript, a letter of support from the faculty sponsor, and a supplies budget.
During the summer, Howard Hughes Fellows will participate in a series of informal research presentations. At the end of the summer, students will submit a summary of the completed project; and present their summer research in a poster session early in the fall semester.
