FALMOUTH, Maine - The Emory College men's tennis team swept Salve Regina 5-0 in an NCAA Division III Tournament Second-Round match on Saturday evening. The Eagles advance to Sunday's Regional Final against host Bowdoin College in a match scheduled to be played at the Portland Athletic Club in Falmoth, Maine at noon.
Salve Regina finishes their season with a record of 19-4.
Emory (16-6), the third-ranked team in Division III, eased to a 3-0 lead with a trio of impressive doubles wins. The #3 pairing of Oliver Lopp and Michael Kaufman made quick work of their match, earning an 8-0 decision to spark the run. The Eagles didn't lose a point in singles play, picking up a pair of 6-0, 6-0 wins courtesy of Mark Boren (#2) and Hardy Ehlers (#5) to clinch the victory.
