Watson Arena Opening Night Tickets No Longer Available
BRUNSWICK, Maine - The Bowdoin College Athletic Department has announced that capacity for the inaugural games at Sidney J. Watson Arena has been reached and no additional tickets are available. The Polar Bears will open the facility with a doubleheader and dedication ceremony on Sunday, January 18. Tickets for the final games at Dayton Arena on January 16 and 17 are still for sale.

BRUNSWICK, Maine - The plight of the Polar Bear and its connection to the College are the focus of an article in the December 29, 2008, issue of ESPN the Magazine. Points of Bowdoin pride are plentiful in the article, including mentions of illustrious alumnus Robert E. Peary's historic expedition to the North Pole and the field hockey team's NCAA championship win. ESPN the Magazine has a monthly circulation of approximately 2 million readers.

NESCAC Announces Fall All-Academic Team Honorees
BRUNSWICK, Maine - Thirty-nine Bowdoin student-athletes have been awarded NESCAC All-Academic recognition in honors announced this week. To be honored, a student-athlete must have reached junior academic standing and be a varsity letter winner with a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.35.

Bowdoin Announces New, Unified Polar Bear Logo
BRUNSWICK, Maine - The Bowdoin Polar Bear has presented many faces in its nearly century-long tenure as College mascot at times simultaneously. In an effort to unify the logo into a consistent and timeless graphic identity, the College collaborated with the Morrow Creative Group of Portland, Ore., to achieve variations of a classic, stylized black line drawing and an accompanying new typeface.

Construction Continues on New Campus Fitness Center
BRUNSWICK, Maine - Construction has begun in earnest, as the west side of Morrell Gymnasium was torn down on August 12 to make way for the new state-of-the-art Campus Fitness Center.
