Lecture, The New Spirit: American Art in the Armory Show
Gail Stavitsky, chief curator of the Montclair Art Museum in New Jersey, will speak about her critically acclaimed exhibition “The New Spirit: American Art in the Armory Show, 1913” held earlier this year at the Montclair Art Museum.
Maurice Prendergast and other artists represented in the collections of the Bowdoin College Museum of Art exhibited in the groundbreaking 1913 International Exhibition of Modern Art, which became known as the Armory Show.
Presented in conjunction with “Maurice Prendergast: By the Sea” and the hundredth anniversary of the Armory Show.
Open to the public free of charge.
