About

A selection of works by some of the many artists for whom the state of Maine has been a wellspring of inspiration. Among those individuals featured are Alex Katz, who has summered in Maine each year for over half a century, Marsden Hartley, who was born in Lewiston and returned to the state later in life, and, of course, Winslow Homer. Also on display is an array of personal items from the Winslow Homer archive, including the artist's family photographs and painting equipment.
