Drawn from the Bowdoin College Museum of Art collection, and especially the foundational bequest of works from the family of James Bowdoin III, this exhibition features artists such as Domenico Beccafumi, Filippo Bellini, Giovanni Castiglione, Annibale Carracci, Hendrick Goltzius, Parmaganino, and Giovanni Domenico Tiepolo. Particular attention is paid to the diversity of techniques demonstrated and the relationships among these media. Many of the works have not been exhibited for over twenty years.
