Student Design Projects

Through design projects that serve the local community, students gain a deeper understanding of the people and places with whom they come into contact, as well as how design can address issues within the community. The service learning projects use the design process to incorporate site, precedent, and historical analysis to produce visual and verbal presentations. Local non-profits and campus partners find that students can significantly contribute to the pre-design stage that is too often short changed by time and resource constraints. Student proposals help by offering multiple options that both define issues and offer creative solutions that can inspire.
