If you can't make it to campus, we encourage you to interview with a member of the Bowdoin Alumni Schools and Interviewing Committee (BASIC) closer to home. There are BASIC volunteers in most areas of the United States and a number of foreign countries.
Interviews are available to high school seniors and transfer candidates only.
Alumni interviews may be requested from September 1 through December 6 by completing the online request form [now closed]. Once we receive your request, an alum will contact you within two to three weeks to set up an interview.
Please note that in certain geographic areas, there are a limited number of alumni interviews available. Candidates are encouraged to schedule an interview as early as possible. Alumni interviews are weighted equally with on campus interviews and are available only to students who do not interview on campus.
Our Admissions staff travels to nearly 600 high schools each year to meet with interested students. Recruitment travel is focused in the fall semester, with only a handful of school visits, college fairs, and admitted student events in the spring.
Scheduled high school visits are listed here; international events appear below the state list.
High school visit sessions generally cover academic and extracurricular opportunities at Bowdoin, as well as the admissions process and financial aid. If an Admissions staff member will be visiting your high school, you will receive email notification of the date and time of the visit (assuming that you are on our mailing list).
