The consultants for teaching are drawn from among the faculty and are available to any interested faculty member for occasional confidential consultation about teaching. Consultants are trained as a group, using both internal and external resources, to act as non-directive facilitators for helping interested faculty develop their own best teaching practices. Consultation might take many forms, possibly including classroom observation, help in understanding course evaluations, or analysis and review of course syllabi, assignments, and other materials. Topics for discussion might be general in nature or might be specific issues identified by the interested faculty member.

Consultation through this program is kept in confidence and is not be part of the process of evaluation of faculty for reappointment, tenure, promotion, or for any other formal reason. However, candidates who participate in this program are free to discuss their experience in their self-evaluations. To find out more about the program or to initiate a consulation, simply contact any consultant from the list.
