Faculty Development Committee
The Faculty Development Committee awards grants to members of the faculty in several categories:
- Course development
- Funds to support research and scholarship, including supplemental support for travel to professional conferences
- Faculty leave support
The committee also establishes procedures and criteria for awards.
Faculty members are reminded of other sources of internal funding, including funds administered by the Office of the Dean for Academic Affairs for Professional Conference Travel and Course Enrichment.
Members of the 2015 - 2016 Research Subcommittee are: Faculty: Dana Byrd (18), John C. Holt (18), Hannah Reese (18), Jennifer Taback, subcommittee chair (16). Ex Officio: Rachel J. Beane, Liason for Faculty; representatives from the Center for Learning and Teaching, the Library, IT, Student Fellowships, and Student Affairs, as needed.
Members of the 2015 - 2016 Teaching Subcommittee are: Faculty: John M. Fitzgerald, subcommittee chair and chair of FDC (17), K. Page Herrlinger (18), Michele LaVigne (17); students: Lan Crofton '17, Rachel Snyder '16. Ex Officio: Rachel J. Beane, Liaison for Faculty; representatives from the Center for Learning and Teaching, the Library, IT, Student Fellowships, and Student Affairs, as needed.
