The Department of Government and Legal Studies invites applications for a one-year position in International Relations at the Assistant Professor or Instructor level for the 2008-2009 academic year. Expertise in Middle East politics and security studies preferred, but candidates in all subfields of international relations will be considered. Evidence of teaching excellence or promise, and scholarly engagement is expected; Ph.D. in hand by the date of appointment is preferred, though ABDs will be considered. Teaching load is two courses each semester.
Consideration of applications will begin immediately; we hope to begin scheduling campus visits by late March. Preliminary interviews with prospective candidates may be possible at the upcoming ISA meetings.
