Bowdoin College invites nominations and applications for a tenured appointment in physical chemistry at the rank of associate or full professor. We seek an established scholar with a record of excellence in teaching and research, along with a demonstrated track record of extramural funding and successful mentoring of undergraduate research.
Applications and nominations are welcomed in all areas of physical chemistry, broadly defined. Ideally, the successful candidate will bring research and teaching expertise that complements that of the Bowdoin faculty. Substantial opportunities exist for disciplinary and interdisciplinary interactions and collaborations with Bowdoin faculty and we welcome applications from candidates who might contribute to the College’s biochemistry or neuroscience programs.
The College offers a 2-1 teaching load for chemistry faculty, small classes, a culture of student research, and excellent research and grant support infrastructure. Full-time laboratory instructor support is provided for lab sections.
